Timmins Learning Centre can help current
and future employees improve their workplace skills. It can also provide
job specific training for the following entry level occupations:
- Retail/cashier
- Labourers/skilled trade helpers
- Florist assistant
- Nanny caregiver
- Food service industry
- Health care curriculum
- Chambermaid
- Hospitality Industry
- Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance
- Forestry worker
- Hunting and fishing guide
- Pet Groomer
- Security Guard
- Laundromat worker
What can Employers do?
- Inform employees about training
opportunities
- Provide financial support to a local
literacy program
- Make literacy an issue in newsletters
and at staff meetings
- Partner with a local literacy agency to
provide job specific training
- Provide a flexible work schedule for those employees who wish to attend a literacy program; to improve their workforce skills.
