Donors/Donations |

January 2007 started out with good news from Xstrata Nickel Montcalm mines. They graciously donated $4995 to the Timmins Learning Centre for the purchase of a much-needed photocopier.
In March, ABC Canada Gift of Words presented by Starbucks donated $1500 towards the purchase of a new book collection. We are very grateful for this collection; it offers a variety of stories and learning materials to children in our one to one and drop-in programs. With this collection, we hope to be able to continue to offer a variety of material that will meet everyone’s individual taste. The Timmins Learning Centre is a registered not for profit charity. All donations are eligible for a tax receipt. Currently
we are fundraising for the Homework Club. The Timmins Learning
Centre would like to continue to offer assistance to parents and their
children so that these students can move on academically with confidence.
By becoming an A+ Supporter, you will make a difference in a
child’s life. Many children
experience mild to extreme learning difficulties in school.
Whether these difficulties are short term or long term, 1-1
tutoring is a proven, effective method to help these children succeed.
Presently, 35% of the population in All donors will be
recognized as valuable partners by having their names added to our A+
Supporter’s Wall of Recognition.
The total cost for a child in our program is
$500 per year. This amount
covers tutoring sessions, books, learning materials, computer programs,
volunteer recruitment and training, workshops for parents, and
administrative charges. |
